Dublin Christian Mission is a non-denominational organization located in the heart of Ireland’s largest city. Their goal is simple: meet the physical and spiritual needs of their community. They seek to work in neighborhoods that have a high rate of drug abuse, poverty, broken homes, abuse, teenage pregnancy, and crime. They believe these high-risk communities have incredible potential and it is their hope that through our various ministries, they can help others find freedom and healing. Dublin Christian Mission started as the Dublin City Mission in 1828, making it the second oldest independent city mission in the world. In 1965, the City Mission combined with the Dublin Medical Mission (1891) and the Dublin Mission (1953) to form the present Mission. In more recent years, the Mission has been engaged in youth work and homeless ministry in three locations throughout Dublin. Currently, the Mission’s activities include a Christian community center for all ages and a homeless outreach center.
The DCM homeless drop-in center is open three days a week to serve hot meals and work on building relationships with those who come in. On Saturdays, they are able to provide people with donations of clothing, sleeping bags, and blankets at a free coffee bus downtown. There is also a need to renovate the main hall that serves as a church, many children's programs and community events.
Whether you have helping hands or professional skills they are welcome! Team members are needed in the following areas:
- Service Team
- Light Construction
- Finishing Work
- General Labor
